MOME Graduation Show 2016

The Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design views itself as a place where thought, creation and action, artistic and scientific articulation, dialogue and critical expression are natural demands. In November 2014, the largest creative investment in Hungary began: the complete renovation and renewal of the MOME campus. The 2016 graduation year was organised in the midst of a major transformation.

The concept of the design reflects this change: the demolition of the building and the act of moving itself. To give a proper sense of the phenomenon of demolition and construction, magnet powder was used: the dust gets disintegrated by another magnet and then reassembled using a stop motion technique.

As the graduation year was the year of renovation, the icons were designed to complement the identity, referring to various construction signs. The shapes were then moulded from magnetic powder and the images used in the animations were coloured.
